Privacy policy
Last updated: 20 September 2026
This explains what Sort'd does with your information. Sort'd is run by Jessica Flanagan in Liverpool, United Kingdom, and for data protection law we are the data controller. Email us about anything on this page at hello@sortdstyle.com.
What we collect
Your account. Your name and email address, and the fact that you hold a membership.
Payment. Your card is handled by Shopify's payment processing. We never see or store your card number. We can see that a payment succeeded, the amount, and the last four digits.
What you tell us. Anything you put in the contact form or send us by email, and anything you choose to save in your account area, such as your sizes or the shops you want to hear about.
What you do on the site. The occasions and budgets you ask for, the outfits you are shown, and which pieces you click. This is how Sort'd learns to style you better.
Technical information. Your device, browser, IP address and how you moved around the site, collected by our website platform.
Some of what you save — your saved outfits, your diary dates, your favourites — is stored in your own browser on your own device and is not sent to us at all.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
To give you the service you paid for (performance of a contract): your account, your outfits, your billing.
To run and improve Sort'd (legitimate interests): keeping the site working, keeping prices and stock accurate, seeing which outfits land and which do not, preventing fraud.
To email you (consent): the weekly outfit, sale notes and anything else you ticked. Every email has an unsubscribe link and you can stop at any time.
To keep our records straight (legal obligation): tax and accounting records of what you paid.
Who sees it
Shopify, who host the site, the accounts and the payments. They process your information on our behalf.
Our email provider, to send you the emails you asked for.
Nobody else. We do not sell your information, and we do not hand your details to the shops we link to.
One thing worth knowing: when you click through to a shop, you are on their website, and they and their affiliate network may set their own cookies to record the click. That is covered by their privacy policies, not this one.
Cookies
We use cookies that are needed for the site to work — keeping you logged in, remembering your basket. We also use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used, and you can refuse those when you are asked. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time, though parts of the site may stop working properly.
Where your information goes
Our suppliers may store information outside the UK. Where that happens, it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent contract terms.
How long we keep it
Your account details for as long as you are a member, and for two years after you cancel in case you come back. Records of payments for seven years, because tax law says so. Messages you send us for two years. Marketing consent until you withdraw it.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to stop using it for a particular purpose, or ask for it in a portable form. Email hello@sortdstyle.com and we will answer within one month.
If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or call them on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first so we can fix it.
Children
Sort'd is for adults. You need to be 18 or over to hold a membership, and we do not knowingly collect information about children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and if the change matters we will tell you by email.
